HOPELESSNESS AMONG NURSING STUDENTS DURING THE EARLY PHASE OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC : ONLINE CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY AT UNIVERSITAS RESPATI YOGYAKARTA

Background: Global pandemic of COVID-19 caused unprecedented effect in education sector due to the university closure and distance education, which could significantly affected students mental health increased suicidality. Nursing are vulnerable population already stressful academic activities coupled with loneliness financial difficulties. Hopelessness, a negative view self relation world future, identified as consistent predictor This study aimed explore prevalence hopelessness among nursing association between sociodemographic characteristic hopelessness.
 Methods: Online cross sectional was conducted Universitas Respati Yogyakarta June until September 2020, involved 232 that selected using consecutive sampling method. Sociodemographic questionnare Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS) were used collect data. Chi square test analyze Result: Our elucidated at during early phase is 9.5%. revealed there no significant any (p>0.05).
